  A Great Resource

The Steve Midgett Library is Virginia's premiere gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender lending library.

LibraryComplete computer, conference table and quiet solitude, youth can peruse fiction and non-fiction alike through our collection of books, magazines, newspapers and other articles of interest to our community.

Though classified as a "micro-library" by virtue of its relative size, there are hundreds of books available. Magazines such as the Advocate, OUT, Genre and others are also available for in-house reading. The library makes it possible for youth to easily and comfortably access reading materials of interest to them. More importantly, they can do so in a safe environment and in conjunction with the discussion topics surfacing during their weekly Youth Support Groups.

ROSMY GLBTQ Summer Recommended Reading Series

The ROSMY Steven Midgett Memorial Library would like to invite you to join us as we read titles from our first ROSMY GLBTQ Summer Recommended Reading Series. As part the on-going literacy initiative we will continue to recommend titles for our youth, adults and families which will reflect on the monthly topics discussed in our youth group sessions. We encourage you to explore the library, donate a title from the recommended list and share your love of literature with the youth and others in the Richmond GLBTQ community.

View the list here.

The Midgetts and Joyce and Jon Scher are pictured above with a photograph of Steve Midgett at the dedication. The library was furnished and equipped through a generosity of the Scher family.

In order to make as many books, magazines and reference materials available to them as possible it is important for our library materials to remain current.
