The Steve Midgett Library is Virginia's premiere gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgender lending library.
Complete with a computer, conference table and quiet solitude, youth can peruse fiction and non-fiction alike through our collection of books, magazines, newspapers and other articles of interest to our community.
Though classified as a "micro-library" by virtue of its relative size, there are hundreds of books available. Magazines such as the Advocate, OUT, Genre and others are also available for in-house reading.
The library makes it possible for youth to easily and comfortably access reading materials of interest to them. More importantly, they can do so in a safe environment and in conjunction with the discussion topics surfacing during their weekly Youth Support Groups.

ROSMY's Library renamed in honor of Steve Midgett
By proclamation of our Board of Directors on the 20th day of September, 2007, ROSMY’s collection of literary history, creativity and talent is forever dedicated to the memory of Steve Midgett and recognized as The Steve Midgett Memorial Library in honor of his qualities of character, passion for humanity and dedication to equality that ROSMY seeks to instill in every individual.

The Midgetts and Joyce and Jon Scher are pictured above with a photograph of Steve Midgett at the dedication. The library was furnished and equipped through a generosity of the Scher family.

In order to make as many books, magazines and reference materials available to them as possible it is important for our library materials to remain current.
