How can YOU help Virginia’s GLBTQ youth?
Sponsorship of a CRISIS package only $30
Each CRISIS package contains a personalized letter, the CRISIS curriculum for fostering positive discussion about differences with youth, parents, and caregivers, 50 Youth Support Line Cards, and a companion copy of Mitchell Gold’s moving look at 40 real accounts of growing up gay in America, CRISIS. Become a trained ROSMY facilitator!
Work directly with GLBTQ youth ages 14-20 in a support group setting. You must be 23 years old or over to become a facilitator. An application and background check are required. Please e-mail Youth Programs Director and Volunteer Manager Grayson Mitchell at youthprograms@rosmy.org to sign-up for training. This is a unique and great experience to work with youth who struggle with sexual orientation and gender identity. We look forward to seeing you there!
Dates are as follows:
*YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH PORTIONS OF THE TRAINING FOR YOUR CERTIFICATION TO DEEM YOU A FACILITATOR
*Dinner will be provided on Friday; you will have 1 hour to get lunch on Saturday.
